Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple which attracts millions of devotees every year from all over the country and abroad, is one of the ancient mountain shrines situated in a deep, dense forest on the virgin hill of Sabari, in the Ranni-Perunad village of Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, in South India. Surrounded by lush tropical jungles and 18 hills, the shrine is over 4000 ft above sea level. Sabarimala is part of Sahyadris (Western Ghats); remnants of ancient temples are visible in the adjoining hills and at Nilackal, Kalaketi and Karimala offerings are still made to the devis/devas. Kottarakkara Ganapathi Temple

Kottarakkara Ganapathi Temple is one of the important Lord Ganesh Temples in Kerala, situated in Kottarakkara about 25 km from Kollam and 72 km to the north of Thiruvananthapuram. Nilakkal Sree Mahadeva Temple

Nilakkal Mahadeva Temple is a located in Nilakkal, in the eastern side of Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state, India. The temple is dedicated to lord Shiva and it is one of the important "idathavalam" or halting place for the Sabarimala piligrims. The shrine is administrated by Travancore Devaswom Board. During Sabarimala pilgrimage, lots of devotees visit the temple. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity and it's believed to be in two moods, Ugramoorthy (fierce) and Mangala pradayakan (auspicious). A common belief is that Lord Shiva is showering his blessings to his son Lord Ayyappa to fight against all evil spirits while throwing all anger to the evils. As in many Shiva shrines, a number of oxes are protected in the temple premises. There is only two Upa Prathishtas (sub deities) here, Lord Kannimoola Ganapathi and Nandi. OTC Hanuman Temple

The temple is one of the famous hanuman temples in Kerala and visited by devotees from all part of Kerala and India. The temple is located in Palayam central part of Thiruvananthapuram. Pampa Ganapathy Temple

Pampa Ganapathy Temple, also known as Pampa Ganapati Kovil, is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This is the first temple and holy spot on the way from Pamba to Sannidanam. Pampa Ganapathi Temple at Pampa, 60kms from Pathanamthitta town and 8 Kms from Sabarimala, has an important roll in the Sabarimala pilgrimage as it is the main halting point. Sabarimala pilgrims from different route meet at Pampa and then proceed to Sannidhanam. During early days of the pilgrimage, pilgrims faced many difficulties at Pampa. On performing “Prasna chinda”, the presence of Ganapathi was found and a temple was consecrated. Based on “Jyothisha prediction, the deity of old Ganapathi was consecrated as “Adi Ganapathi” as lord of Sidhi and Budhi.

Peroor Sree Krishna Swamy Temple

Peroor Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is an ancient Hindu Temple situated near Ambalamukku in Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation. Ambalamukku Jn is 6 km from Thiruvananthapuram central Bus Stand and Railway Station. The temple is dedicated to Lord Sree Krishna and is administered by Travancore Devaswom Board. Peroorkada's name came from this holy temple. The temple is famous as 'Thekkan Guruvayoor'. The main deity of this temple is Lord Sree Krishna. Sub- deities include Ganapathi, Shiva, Bhagavathy, Ayyappan, Muruga, Nagas and Navagrahas. The annual festival continues for ten days. It begins by hoisting the flag on the golden flagstaff on Thiruvonam Star day in the Malayalam month of Meenam and finishes by Aarattu on the tenth day. The Aarattu ritual is held at Sasthamangalam Mahadevar Temple premises and on that evening a spectacular procession continues from the temple.

Janardanaswamy Temple

Janardana Swami Temple is a 2000-year-old temple situated in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram. It is also known as Varkala Temple. Janardana Swami is a form of Lord Vishnu. It is a very well known temple in Kerala about 10.9 km west of Kallambalam on NH 66 near sea, 25 km north of Thiruvananthapuram city, 13 km south of famous backwater destination Paravur and 2 km from Varkala Sivagiri railway station, 14 km north west of biggest town Attingal. It is situated near the Arabian sea shore.It is referred to as Dakshin Kashi (Benares of the south).

Sarkaradevi Temple

Sarkaradevi Temple is one of the most important temples in South India. It is situated South of the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk (in the North-West of Thiruvananthapuram district). The nearest town is Attingal and Varkala. Its main deity is Bhadrakali. The Sarkaradevi Temple assumed a significant status for many reasons and rose to historical importance mainly with the introduction of the famous Kaliyoot festival by Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma, the Travancore sovereign, in 1748. Sreekanteswaram Mahadewa Temple

Sreekanteswaram Temple is one of the most Famous Shiva temple in Kerala. Situated in the capital town Thriuvanthapuram,Kerala,India. The temple is more than 700 years old. Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The older Temple with Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu has a similar name called Puthanchantha. so the temple was known as Pazhaya. Sreekanteswaram Temple has a history behind that, once there was an old sweeper maid in this temple, the women who used to work in used to take rest under the shultter of a tree near her own hut. She would always keep her broom and pot near a tree. The women tried to lift the pot one day as regular but it did not move. So she tried to break the pot using a abstcals she had. Immeditly she found that the pot was bleeding profusely. By this the devoties believed that Lord Shiva gave darshan to the old women. It is distinguished as the Swyambhoo (self manifested) Shiva Linga idol in the Sreekanteswaram Temple .At the temple an annual festival will be conducted and it lasts for ten days and will be celebrated in the Malayalam month Dhanu during the month of december and january.

Thirumullavaram Sri Maha Vishnu Swami Temple

Thirumullavaram Sri Maha Vishnu Swami Temple is located at a distance of 8 Kms from Kollam and is situated very close to the Arabian Sea. Upon entering the temple there is an idol depicting the Mythical bird Garuda, which is believed to be the vehicle mount or the Vahana of the Hindu Lord Vishnu. The temple sees large crowd of devotees visiting every season, it is advised to visit the temple during the Karkadaka Vaavu season which falls in between the months of July and August. Every year thousands and more devotees visit the temple premises to pray for their departed on the first day of the new moon in the month of Karkidakam, the near and dear ones offer Bali or a Sacrifice for the ease of the departed at the Thirumullavarum beach.

Thiruvallam Parasu Rama Swami Temple

This temple is situated at Thiruvallam in Thiruvananthapuram City on Kazhakkuttam-Kovalam by- pass road. The temple is located at the ‘Triveni Sangama’ of rivers Karamana, Killi and Parvathiputhanar. The main speciality of this temple is that, it is a Trimurthy temple were Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahama have separate shrines. According to myothology, sage Parasurama had killed his own mother as commanded by this father. To get rid of this sin, sage Parasurama visted many palces. As advised by Lord Shiva, he came to this place and had a bath in the Karamanai river. After that he got the Shivalinga here, established it and performed penance in this place cleansed himself of the dosha. He also performed Tharpan (last rites) for his mother here. It says that the temple was built during the 12th and 13th century, during late Pandyan period. The temple is considered as a protected monument by the Archaeology Department of Kerala. It is famous for Balitharpanam (a tribute to ancestors). Legend has it that Lord Parasurama is the creator of Kerala and the temple dedicated to him is considered as a holy place for his devotees. During the karkidaka vavu day (a holiday in the Malayalam month of karkidakam) as part of the bali (a religious ritual), devotees pay homage to the departed souls of forefathers, after taking a dip in the holy water.

This temple is situated at Thiruvallam in Thiruvananthapuram City on Kazhakkuttam-Kovalam by- pass road. The temple is located at the ‘Triveni Sangama’ of rivers Karamana, Killi and Parvathiputhanar. The main speciality of this temple is that, it is a Trimurthy temple were Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahama have separate shrines. According to myothology, sage Parasurama had killed his own mother as commanded by this father. To get rid of this sin, sage Parasurama visted many palces. As advised by Lord Shiva, he came to this place and had a bath in the Karamanai river. After that he got the Shivalinga here, established it and performed penance in this place cleansed himself of the dosha. He also performed Tharpan (last rites) for his mother here. It says that the temple was built during the 12th and 13th century, during late Pandyan period. The temple is considered as a protected monument by the Archaeology Department of Kerala. It is famous for Balitharpanam (a tribute to ancestors). Legend has it that Lord Parasurama is the creator of Kerala and the temple dedicated to him is considered as a holy place for his devotees. During the karkidaka vavu day (a holiday in the Malayalam month of karkidakam) as part of the bali (a religious ritual), devotees pay homage to the departed souls of forefathers, after taking a dip in the holy water.
